It's snowing again. Paige is with her dad, Emily with a friend and it's just Greg, me, one dog and a cat by default. I thought we'd be able to get out and piddle around today, but it's safer to stay at home. Why take a chance.
Odd how when you don't have to get up your internal clock wakes you up anyway. I got up and took a long, hot bath. Through the window, the snow fell and I sank a little deeper.
The only sound I hear is the heat pump and the engine on a distant plane. I am hoping for crystal clear silence although I know that I couldn't stand it for long. I have no plans for today, nothing I need to accomplish.

Yeah, I work in the OR.
It ain't Grey's Anatomy. Not by a long shot. But if I close my eyes and pretend, I can see McSteamy in the locker room waiting for me. I can't make that image last but about 3 seconds before reality sets in.
I'm a circulating nurse. A circulating nurse is responsible for all aspects of the room that aren't sterile. Mind you, we are trained to have a "sterile conscience." Hard to explain that, but basically you walk around the room with your back to the outside of the room, your front to the sterile side and pay close attention to anything and everything draped in blue, including your surgeon. We have no McSteamys or McDreamys where I work. The only McSteamy we have would be situational McSteamy. The OR room is too hot and you can't remove your sterile gown.... I guess that could get pretty steamy.
Did I ever tell you why I became a nurse? Well, it's because they took art out of the public schools. Yep. In my junior year of Art Education at ECU. Arg.

Monday Monday....
We got this awesome iMac for Christmas but here's the problem. All my photos are on the PC and I'm either too lazy or too tired to even begin to transfer them over to the mac. I'd like to be able to edit. Sand's in my eyes, my tummy's full of homemade veggie soup and my mother's recipe for hoecakes. So instead of being constructive, I've sat in front of the computer screen and read various fb status updates about "The Bachelor" and his lame dress compliments. By the way girls, he's changed.

Blog Blog Blog
I am not good at this, I've decided. I have no idea how to make this blog shine, sing or demonstrate any talent of it's own. It's grey for goodness sake! My goal is to offer up some presets for Lightroom, show some comparisons of before and afters, perhaps a tutorial or two. But! This thing called EMPLOYMENT gets in the way. I know, I know. I should be happy to have a job, right? I am, but wouldn't a lottery win be even better! I'd walk around for days with mistletoe tied to my back belt loop. In the meantime, I'll squeeze in blogging whenever I can and hopefully one day my blog will show some inspiration of it's own!

Monday, Monday.... can't trust that day.
For some reason, I'm extraordinarily tired. It's 7:41 and I'm already considering going to bed.
This weekend I met my nephew for the first time and he's already 4 months old. He's a very beautiful little boy and so very laid back. What a joy he is! I have a few photos that I've posted on my facebook. I hope to edit a few more in the next day or so.

Seriously. When I wasn't looking blogging happened and I really don't know what I would have to say that would be remotely interesting to anyone other than my husband. And poor thing, he's heard most of it two or three times before.
I'm in the middle of building a house. My husband and I have been planning for this for 3 years now. We've been reviewing house plan after house plan. We decided to go modular. We researched every single modular company out there and finally chose Nationwide. On May 18th, you can be introduced to Nationwide Builders on "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition." Yes, it's pretty nice to know that ABC chose the same folks who are building our house to build a house for their show. Hope they pay as close attention to ours as I'm sure they're paying to the one that will be showcased on TV.
Anyway, the house we're living in now is small. It was Greg's grandmother's house and was great for us when the kids were younger although having just one bathroom is TOUGH. I think the thing I'm looking forward to most is not having to share one with my teenaged daughters.
